Breath of Gold
Driving through the Smoky Mountains I stopped at this location the third time I came upon it.
I was a tad bit disappointed. There was color in pockets and at different elevations but none of it was where I wanted it.
When I stopped here, I walked over to a very steep drop down a couple hundred feet. The color I wanted was down there, way down there. I returned to my van and grabbed my equipment know I was going over the edge.
When I reached the bottom and got below the canopy of the trees still green I could really see the intensity of the yellow foliage, it was beautiful. Looking up stream the trees came together in the valley blocking out the sky. The boulders were perfectly black, the lichens were stunning, and the water white; I was happy.
I worked my way up and down the stream for maybe an hour total shooting different angles and perspectives. This image is everything I was after when leaving for this trip.
Breath of Gold is available as a limited edition of only 25 (you read that right) and is the first image in the Dream Line, more information on purchasing options and sizing can be found by clicking on an image or here.
